James E. Goad, 71, of Bloomfield, passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017 at his residence.

Born February 1, 1946 in Bloomfield he was the son of James and Alta (Killian) Goad.


He was a Truck driver for Vest Trucking and the Tree of Life. He was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church and the Worthington American Legion post # 106.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Donna Goad of Bloomfield; children, Robb Weddle (Trish) of Bloomfield, Jimmy Weddle of Bloomfield, Veronica Simpson of Bloomfield and Tadd Blake (Lanelle) of Bloomington; one sister, Lois Toler (Ron) of Hobe Sound, Florida; a brother, Don Goad (Helen) of Bloomfield; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela (Terrell) Goad and his parents.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield, with Brother Ed Smith officiating.

Public visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
