Jack D. Elkins, 68, of Newberry passed away at 10:50 A.M. on Wednesday March 31, 2010 at Ketchem Memorial in Odon, Indiana.
Jack was born October 31, 1941 in Owen County the son of Roscoe and Captola (Flynn) Elkins.
Jack had worked at RCA, Thompsons and GE in Bloomington, he was retired. He attended the Newberry Christian Church.
Surviving relatives include his wife Judy Elkins of Newberry; four daughters Pamela Jackson (Jerry) of Lansing, Kansas; Angela Gardner Lucas of Ellettsville, Glenda Tatro of Scotland and Lora Scott of Bloomington. Three sisters Shirley Newell (Larry), Rebecca Mitchell and Linda Crites all of Bloomington. Six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by two sisters Martha Waldrip and Patricia Elkins, one brother Perry Elkins and his parents.
Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Saturday April 3, 2010 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday April 3, 2010 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Tony Butz and Rev. Bob Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Newberry Cemetery in Newberry, Indiana.
Any donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
