Harry Lee Carpenter, 90, of Bloomington, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

Born October 21, 1935 in Bloomfield, he was the son of Joseph and Josephine (Michaels) Carpenter.

Harry retired as a supervisor at Otis Elevator.

Surviving relatives include: his daughters, Debbie Williams (Donnie) and Becky Wingler; his siblings, Edna Thompson, Donna Horral and Martha Burch; four grandchildren, Carrie Ann Thornsberry, Kayla Jo Wonsch, Ashley J. Wingler and Tyler Austin Wingler; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher Jospeh Thornsberry. Max Wonsch and Emersyn R. Wingler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary J. Carpenter on February 4, 2019, his brothers, Robert, Richard, Roy, Ralph, Dan and Laverne Carpenter, one sister, Mary Kay Edwards; his son-in-law, Randy Wingler and his parents.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Walnut Grove Cemetery in rural Bloomfield. There will be no public visitation.
