Harley E. Carmichael, 94, of Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at his residence.
Born October 6, 1921 in Solsberry, he was the son of Charles and Laura (Neill) Carmichael.
He was an electrician for IBEW Local 725 and Poe Electric in Linton. He was a World War II veteran with the United States Army. He was a member of the Cincinnati Christian Church and the Solsberry American Legion Post # 450.
Surviving relatives include: two children, Cynthia Roberts (Tom) of Bloomfield and Bruce J, Carmichael (Julie) of Bloomington; his grandchildren, Jessica Reed (Anthony) of Bloomington, Jonathan Roberts of Nashville, Tennessee, Levi Carmichael (Amanda) of Sellersburg, Sarah Roberts of Indianapolis and Dane Carmichael (Tiffany) of Austin Texas; great grandchildren, Evan Carmichael, Evelyn Carmichael, Harrison Reed and Lucas Reed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna L. Carmichael on November 2, 2009, one son, Kim Carmichael, sisters, Dorothy Hahn, Audrey Starnes and Fraulein Peterson, and two brothers, James Carmichael and Herbert Carmichael.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Cincinnati Christian Church, with Rev. Tony Stinson officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and 1 hour prior to services on Monday at the Cincinnati Christian Church. Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to the Cincinnati Christian Church, IU Health Hospice of Bloomington or The Family Life Center of Greene County.
