Gerald "Gene" King, 87, of Linton, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Cedar Creek Memory Care in Bloomington.
Born March 2, 1938 in Koleen, Indiana, he was the son of Elbert "Dutch" and Dottie (Fesler) King.
Gene worked as a supervisor for RCA. He was Past Master of the Stanford Masonic Lodge later transferring membership to the Solsberry Lodge #411. He also had 35 honorary memberships to other lodges and received the O.S.M. for which he was very proud of. Gene served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Steven King; his step Children, Gypse Thompson-Campbell (David), Joey Thompson and Jeania Thompson-Tanglao (Ronald); his grandchildren, Zachary King, Seth King, Ben King, Corbin Forston, Camie Forston, Jeania Whaley and Steven Thompson; great grandchildren, Reese Marie King, Taylor Baughman, Gabriel Walters, Eric Lee May and Sebastain Milo Thompson; and one great-great grandchild, Julietta de Santiago.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley K. King on September 21, 2023, one son, Christopher King; grandson, Kyle May and Jonathan Pate, a granddaughter, Jessica Pate, siblings, Mabel Allen, Gale King and Roberta Todd and his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Public visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
