Florence Eugenia Bovenschen, 79, of Bloomfield went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, at 8:15 A.M. Wednesday, July 2, 2026 at Stonecroft Health Campus.

Born August 21, 1946 in Portsmouth VA, she was the daughter of Charles and Eileen (Carr) Brennaman. She was raised and later adopted by her Aunt and Uncle, Phyllis and Thomas Morgan.

She was a graduate of the Bloomfield H.S. Class of 1964. She fell in love with her H.S. sweetheart William (Butch) Bovenschen and married March 6, 1964. They enjoyed almost 61 years of marriage before his passing in January 2025.

After graduation, she became a homemaker, or as she liked to say a "Domestic Engineer". She was a wonderful and loving Mother to her four children and to many of the neighbor children. It wasn't unusual to have 5 or more extra children at her house on a daily basis. She would be the first to tell you that she wasn't a good housekeeper. You could find sticky floors and dirty handprints on the walls but also a lot of love and laughter. She was active in her children's lives and served as a leader for Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. One of her most cherished leadership roles was as Bethel Guardian to 20 girls in Bloomfield Job's Daughters. She was an active member of Word of Life Fellowship. She loved and prayed for each person there and they were an extension of her family. She served the Lord her entire life in many capacities but teaching young children was her favorite. She believed no child was too young to sit and learn about Jesus. After her children were grown, you could always find her grandchildren at her house. Each one would tell you that he or she was her favorite. She spent many hours making memories with her grandchildren and summers were a special time spent swimming in the pool and eating all the ice cream you wanted from the Schwann man. After her grandchildren were grown, her house continued to be blessed with the addition of great grandchildren.

Even though she suffered many hardships and trials over her life and challenging health issues at the end of her life, the joy of the Lord was always her strength. Her final months were spent at Stonecroft Health Campus but even there, she continued to share and show the love of Jesus to all that she met. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her four children: William (Butch)(Tammy/Sam) Bovenschen, Kristina (Thomas) Helms, Jack (Kim) Bovenschen, and Valarie (Larry) Fink; eleven grandchildren: Chase (Michelle) Bovenschen, Chantal (Nate) Mehill, Amy (Tony) Alberson, Devin (Haley) Bovenschen, Bryce (Cassidy) Helms, Justin (Devan) Bovenschen, Sarah Nail, Alexandria (Nathan) Crews, Kylie Bovenschen, Jonathan (Madison) Fink, Dane Bovenschen and 22 great grandchildren; Two brothers: Anthony Morgan and Clay Brennaman; her Sister-in-law Lisa Hays; and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, William Bovenschen III, her parents and two brothers, Perry Morgan and Steven Brennaman.

Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. until 1 P.M. on Tuesday July 7, 2026 at the Word of Life Fellowship Church in Bloomfield.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday July 7, 2026 at the Church with Brother Eugene Helms officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.

The family ask any memorial donations in Florence's name be given to The Gideons.
