Elsie Corrine Smith, 76, of Bloomfield, passed away at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Greene County General Hospital.
Born January 25, 1935 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Homer Frederick and Lena Ray (Flynn) Pilk.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bloomfield First Christian Church.
Surviving relatives include: One brother, William Frederick Pilk of Elkmont, Alabama, four sisters, Shirley May Hart of Bloomfield, Marlene Williams of Bloomington, Barbara Joe Pilk of Solsberry, and Betty Lou Sherman of Coalmont.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Smith on January 25, 2000 and one sister, Norma Jean Chambers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Bloomfield First Christian Church, with Rev. Dave Wilde officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday at the Church. Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
