Beloved Dad, brother, grandpa, and husband, Edward Burton Davis, 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 14, 2013. Born December 12, 1930 in Greene County, he was the son of Jesse and Edna Davis. Burton graduated from Solsberry High School in 1949, and worked at RCA for over 35 years, was a meter reader for UDWI REMC, and served as the Trustee for Center Township. He was a faithful and active member of the Cincinnati Christian Church and was a great example to his family and many friends.
He is survived by the love of his life for more than sixty four years, Vera Lois (Jones) Davis, his daughter Debra (Dan) Martindale; his son Bryan (Sue) Davis; two sisters Judy (Warren) Cullison and Sharon (Steve) Hanna ; ten grandchildren DeAngela Martindale Crutcher, Dalicia (Josh) Cunningham, David (Kelly) Burkett, Shaun (Christy) Davis, Michael Ray, Matthew (Megan) Burkett, John (Kim) Davis, Jonathan (Christine) Burkett, Timothy Davis, Kayla Davis; Ten great grandchildren, Trey Davis, Cameron Crutcher, Addilyn Crutcher, Ethan Davis, Brianna Cunningham, Parker Davis, Carter Davis, Jonah Davis, Isaiah Davis, Conner Ray and Cunningham baby girl expected any day; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Roger Dale Davis.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cincinnati Christian Church on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Cincinnati Christian Church with visitation one hour before services. Pastor Glenn Stidd and Tony Stinson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Carmichael Cemetery.
