Edith Carpenter, 75, of Bloomington passed away at 8:05 P.M. Sunday July 25, 2010 at the Bloomington Hospital.
Born September 6, 1934 in Greene County, Indiana she was the daughter of Bernard and Lizzie (Jones) Edwards.
Edith was retired from Indiana University.
Surviving relatives include her children; Chris Carpenter of Williamsville, NY; Danny Carpenter and Candace Cooper both of Bloomington. Three brothers; Richard Edwards of Rockledge, Florida; Donald Edwards of Ellettsville, Indiana and John Wayne Edwards of Solsberry, Indiana. Three sisters; Shirley Davis of Hamond, Indiana; Margaret Blank of Ft. Myers, Florida and Juanita Marie Pless of Sullivan, Indiana. She has ten grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Eugene Carpenter on June 15, 2010 and her parents.
There is no public visitation.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday July 28, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield with Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.
