Obituary

Dorothy Louise Sewell, 71, of Bloomfield, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012 at IU Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born August 7, 1941 in Golden Pond, Kentucky, she was the daughter of King George and Dorothy Evelyn (Oakley) Birdsong.
She worked at Light and Life Christian Day Care School in Durate, California from 1968 - 1980. When she left she became the day care director and assistant bookkeeper from 1980 - 1992. She was known as the Postmaster's wife. She belonged to the Switz City Full Gospel Church, the NARFE Auxiliary and the Postmasters Auxiliary.
She always put her Husband, Children, Grandchildren and now Great, Grandchildren first in her life and herself last. Her two favorite things were yard sales and talking with relatives or friends on the phone. She was a very easy going person and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Surviving relatives include: Her husband, Merle Allen Sewell whom she married December 31, 1958; one daughter, Annette Louise Merritt of Bloomfield; one son, Timothy Allen Sewell of Bloomfield; half brother, Wayne Johnson of Loveland, Colorado; grandchildren, P.J. Merritt, Ami Sewell and Jordyn Sewell; one great, grandchildren, Abigail Giles; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Switz City Full Gospel Church or IU Hospice House in Bloomington.
