Dorothy Rose Lannan 94, of Auburndale, Florida, formerly of Newberry, passed away at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida.
Born February 4, 1916 in Evansville, she was the daughter of William and Emma (Chipps) Gartner.
She was a bible teacher and mentor to many and a member of the Harvest Community Church in Bloomfield, Ind.
Surviving relatives include: her children and their spouses, Daniel L. and Paula Schaffer of Newberry, James D. and Brenda Schaffer also of Newberry and Sharon and Phil Harris of Indianapolis; eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and three great-great grand-children.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Horace Schaffer in 1960 and her 2nd husband, Albert Lannan in 1977.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Harvest Community Church in Bloomfield, with Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Newberry cemetery.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the Church. Located 3 ½ miles south of Bloomfield on state road 231, turn east on County road 400, Church is ½ mile on the right. Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Harvest Community Church.
