Donald M. Hughes 62, of Bloomfield, passed away 12:48 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born September 17, 1945 in Sandborn, he was the son of Dale and Kathryn (Frederick) Hughes.
He was a coal miner for Peabody Coal Company where he worked as a heavy equipment operator.
Surviving relatives include: his wife Jayne E. Edmundson, whom he married August 4, 2001; one son, Jeffrey A. Hughes of Bloomfield; five daughters, Dr. Robin Edmundson, PhD. of Solsberry, Kimberly Miller of Edwardsburg, Michigan, Amy Kimmel of Bloomfield, Shawna Edmundson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Bonnie Benjamin of South Bend; his mother, Kathryn Hughes of Sandborn; two brothers, James Hughes of Sandborn and Greg Hughes of Lyons; one sister, Joan James of Linton; one grandson, Brady Donald Hughes and 8 other grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Father.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Dr. Robin Edmundson,PhD. officiating. Interment will be in Stafford cemetery in rural Sandborn.
Friends may call from 12 Noon until the hour of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
