Dennis Wayne Hughes, 83, of Crane, Indiana passed away Sunday August 4, 2024 at Cedar Creek Memory Care in Bloomington.

Born September 3, 1940 in Bedford, Indiana the son of Cecil and Josephine (Taylor) Hughes.

Dennis was an Explosive Handler at Crane, retiring in 2004; Dennis was a United States Air Force and Army National Guard veteran, he was a member of the Crane VFW and a graduate of Loogootee High School.

Surviving relatives include his six children, Kimberly Price (Leon), Dennis Hughes (Sonmi), Chris Hughes (Candy), John Hughes (Mia), Charlie Hughes (Stacy), Stephanie Hughes, he has ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Hughes on January 3, 2024; siblings, Joyce Sams, Tommy Hughes, Jerry Hughes, David Hughes, one granddaughter, and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 P.M. on Sunday August 11, 2024 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Anthony and Hanna Price officiating.

The family wishes any memorial donations in Dennis's name be given to the Crane VFW.
