Dennis N. Harp, 79, of Bloomfield passed away at 5:55 P.M. Sunday March 5, 2006 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton Indiana
Born March 4, 1927 near Owensburg Indiana he was the son of Sylvester "Vester" & Ethel (Bruce) Harp.
He attended the Crabb & Owensburg school. He was a member of the Kentucky Ridge Baptist Church. He had Polio when he was a baby but didn't stop him from living a active live. He enjoyed his family, loved playing horse shoes, checkers & cards. After the death of his parents he and his brother Ora "Poke" Harp made there home near the Bloomington Crane gates where they lived until they moved to Meadow Lark Apartments in Bloomfield in 1989. In 2004 he went to Lyons Health & Living Center in Lyons Indiana.
Surviving relatives include 1 sister Dorothy Hostetter. 1 niece Wilma Harp Helms. 6 Nephews Frank & Darwin Harp, Robert Hostetter, Cecil, Dale, & Garold Spoonmore, and a host of cousin's & friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers Ora, Woodrow, Walter, Mellbert, & Hubert Harp. 2 sisters Mona Harp, & Ona Spoonmore. 2 nieces Janet Sue Harp, & Phyllis Bealty.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday March 8, 2006 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. Burial will be at Kentucky Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Tuesday March 7, 2006 and 1 P.M. till the hour at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
