A moment of silence followed by prayer
David James Sullivan, age 54, of Bloomfield, Indiana, passed away in his home due to ongoing medical complications on November 5th, 2026. Born on August 24th, 1972, he was the youngest of four children and a cherished member of his family and local community.
Though he never married nor had children of his own, his life was defined by an abundance of love. David was a member of the SAL Post # 450 in Solsberry. He shared an exceptionally close bond with his family and took immense pride in being a devoted uncle. In conversation, David could always be counted on to offer a sarcastic slant or witty remark. His legacy of care and kindness lives on through his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom he adored and treated as his own.
His career reflected his deep desire to help others and connect with people. Early on he spent a few years following his mother’s lead as a real estate salesman. Later, his compassionate spirit led him to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), providing gentle care and dignity to those in need. Most recently, he poured his energy and passion into community promotions, working tirelessly to support local businesses and bring life to community events throughout the Greene County area.
Known to all as a genuinely kind soul, he was deeply appreciated for his unwavering contributions to the local area of Bloomfield. Whether promoting a local event, supporting a small business, or simply sharing a warm post on social media, his goal was always to uplift the place and the people he loved so much.
Surviving relatives include his father Larry D. Sullivan, two sisters, Rhonda (Joe) Sermersheim, Regina (Michael) Brown, one brother, Danny Sullivan, as well as a large loving extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and close friends that became family.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Karen E. Sullivan on November 14, 2019.
A Memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6 P.M. on Monday at Jenkins Funeral Home, at 6:00 p.m. a moment of silence will be held followed by a prayer.
The family asks any memorial donations in David’s name be given to the Bloomfield First Baptist Church Food Pantry or the Scotland Cemetery.
