David Mark Polanco, 61, of Bloomfield, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at his residence.
Born March 18, 1962 in Cavite City, Philippines, he was the son of Ernesto and Velma Lucille (Hubbard) Polanco.
David was retired from the United States Navy and later worked and retired from NSWC Crane. He served in Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom. He was a member of ABATE of Indiana, Crane VFW, Bloomfield American Legion Post 196, Fleet Reserve of Jacksonville, Florida and his beloved UNO MAS family.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Debra (Woods) Polanco, whom he married July 25, 1981; two daughters, Jordan LaNae´ Griffin and Kayla Rae Polanco both of Bloomfield; one grandson, Brooks Davis Hayworth of Bloomfield; one brother, Scott Airhart (T.J.) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a sister, Lisa (Polanco) Bowman (Kevin) of Marion, Arkansas; his parents, Ernesto and Velma (Hubbard) Polanco of Millington, Tennessee; his mother-in-law, Polly (May) Dogan of Grenada, Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his father-in-law, Jimmy Raye Woods, as well as his best friends Ed "Papi" Tilley and Kenny "Jambo" Frashier.
There will be a memorial service conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
A Celebration of Life will then take place at 4:00 pm at the Bloomfield American Legion Post 196.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in David's name.
