David Hasler Lynn, 92, passed peacefully at home in Lyons to be with his Lord.
David was born on September 7, 1931 in Bloomfield, Indiana the son of Harry Thomas Lynn and Nellie (Hasler) Lynn.
David was the town barber, Ken Robertson had been with David since he left Barber College, they remained good friends to the end, want to thank Ken for his regular haircuts and meals, it meant so much to him. he was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite, he also belonged to the Odd Fellows Lodge and Lions Club. David was very proud of being an Army veteran of the Korean War, being ahead of the front lines on watch, he often spoke of the moment the last shot was fired, he first heard a bird chirping and how beautiful that sound was. Next the enemy all stood up, many men smiled and waved as they were leaving, so many surrounded the troops. He said that story as a reminder of mankind and how they were happy to return to their families.
David is survived by his son Kenneth Lynn of Seymour, daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Lee Gayhart, 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
David was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Lynn, and his parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Jim Roach officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
