Dallas Thompson, 79, of Bloomington passed away Tuesday March 19, 2013 at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born September 30, 1933 in Springville, Indiana the son of Rathmiel and Vangie (Neely) Thompson.
Dallas was retired from the US Postal service, Loomis Armored Company, he was a meter reader for REMC and custodian for Cincinnati Christian Church for several years. He was a member of the Cincinnati Christian Church and a Army veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from Oolitic High School.
Surviving relatives include his son Jeffrey Wayne Thompson of Bloomington, five grandchildren, Michael Thompson, Sarah Hueman, Amanda Thompson, Dallas Wayne Thompson II and Lizabeth Thompson, thirteen great grandchildren, two brothers, Don Thompson of Springville and Charles Thompson of Switz City, three sisters, Jeana Bosell, Martha Phillips and Pauline Coursey all of Springville, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathy whom he married on March 3, 1956, one son Mark, step grandson Patrick Swango, five brothers, Hobert, Roy, Delmar and two infants.
Friends may call at the Cincinnati Christian Church from 4 to 8 P.M. on Thursday and 10 A.M. on Friday until the hour of service at the church.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the Cincinnati Christian Church with Rev. Tony Stinson officiating. Burial will follow at Springville Cemetery West.
