Carol Russell, 84, of Springville passed away Thursday January 23, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born February 6, 1940 in Dresden, Indiana the daughter of Zebedee and Lillian (Bough) Rush.

Carol was a Home Economics teacher; she taught at Ellettsville and then Eastern Greene School for 35 years. Carol had been a 4H leader, FHA at Eastern Greene and loved teaching sewing and cooking.

Surviving relatives include her four children, Michele Byers, David "Buck" Russell, II. (Shannon), John "Mick" Russell (Nila), Christopher "Chop" Russell (Kim), son-in-law Joe Byers, her grandchildren, Joseph "JD" Byers, Justin Byers (Chelsea), Trent Byers, John Russell (Kennedy), Davis Russell (Whitney), Megan Russell, Logan Russell, Emily Russell, Carol has thirteen great grandchildren, five siblings, Doug Rush (Rhonda), Zebedee Rush (Dona) Mary Fields, Sherry Anno (Randy), Mike Rush (Betty), and several nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, David Burns Russell on January 22, 2018; her brother-in-law Jim fields and her parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 P.M. on February 1, 2025 at the Eastern Greene Middle School Cafeteria.

The family ask that any memorial donations in Carol's name be given to the Eastern Greene School.
