Brian Gainey, 59, of Bloomfield, passed away Monday August 29, 2022 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

Born March 5, 1963 in Greene County, Indiana, the son of the late William Frederick Gainey and Anna Marie (Hawkins) Gainey.

Brian began working in the EMS field in 1979 as an ambulance driver transitioning to EMT, Paramedic, and Training Officer. Brian was a Firefighter Paramedic for the Indianapolis Airport Fire Department for 20 years. Brian was a member of the Elks Lodge in Linton, SAL Post # 196 in Bloomfield, Bloomfield First Presbyterian Church, and was involved in the Greene County Coroner's office for many years.

Surviving relatives include his Wife, Shawna Gainey, whom he married on December 17, 1994. His daughter, Megan Gainey, and grandson, Cooper Gainey.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, September 6, at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield and from 1 P.M. Wednesday until the hour of service at the Sylvania Wesleyan Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the Sylvania Wesleyan Church with Rev. Hana Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Sylvania Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial donations to be made to Open Arms Christian Ministries and S.A.F.E. Animal Rescue in Brian's name.
