Bobby Arthur Helms, 89, of Switz City, Indiana passed away August 4, 2021 at his residence.

Born April 18, 1932 in Greene County, Indiana the son of Fred and Bertha (Blaker) Helms.

Bobby married Janet Vandeventer on April 19, 1953; they had sixy-eight years of marriage. Bobby retired from the Bloomfield Post Office after 32 years of service. Bobby was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and Army reserves, he was a member of the Gethsemane Tabernacle and Pleasant Ridge Churches, Bobby was a jack of all trades and loved by many.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Janet Helms of Switz City, his children, Angela Mowery of Indianapolis, Bradley Helms of Iowa, Barry (Bonnie) Helms of Dugger, he has nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Bobby has one brother, Richard Helms of Bloomington and three sisters, Joy Richardson of Bloomington, Freeda (John) Hudson of Solsberry and Gayle (Fred) Gedrich of Virginia.

Bobby was preceded in death by a son Timothy Helms, his brother Jarrel Helms and his parents.

Visitation will be from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held graveside on Thursday at 12:00 P.M. at Hash Cemetery in Bloomfield with Pastor Eugene Helms officiating. Burial will at Hash Cemetery.
