Betty Pearl Swayze 89,of Odon, formerly of Lyons, passed away at 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon.
Born May 11, 1924 in Greene County, she was the Daughter of Allen Thurman and Goldie M. (Slauter) Rodocker.
She retired as a sales clerk for Wal-Mart in Linton and was a member of the Lyons United Methodist Church.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Allen K. Swayze (Terry) of Loogootee; one brother, Robert "Bob" Rodocker of Greenfield; her grandchildren, Kristopher Allen Swayze (Kristy) of Atlanta, Georgia, Megan Lynn Miller (Tim) of Loogootee and Travis Michael Swayze of Evansville; her great grandchildren, Annabeth Swayze and Merritt Swayze both of Atlanta, Georgia and Clayton Miller and Chase Miller both of Loogootee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard O. Swayze on January 13, 1982, five brothers, Clyde Rodocker, Clarence "Midge" Rodocker, Lloyd Rodocker, Max Rodocker and William "Bill" Rodocker and her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Lyons United Methodist Church, with Rev. Rose Sparks officiating. Interment will follow in Switz City Cemetery.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Lyons and 1 hour prior to services Monday at the church.
