Betty Jean Simmons 81, of Bloomfield, passed away at 9:56 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Lyons Health & Living Center.

Born August 8, 1934 in Bartow, Florida, she was the daughter of, John Haywood and Stella Mae (Grooms) Coulter.

She was a clerical worker for NSWC Crane and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Linton.

Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Teri Simmons of Vincennes and Kathy Simmons of Rixeyville, Virginia; her grandchildren, Mike Hoover of Ellettsville, Angela Gilpin of Peyton, Colorado, Jesse Sheetz of Williamsburg, Virginia and James Gentry of Sandborn; great grandchildren, Justin, Ethan, Houston and Scarlet; and two sisters, Shirley Smith of Pensacola, Florida and Helen Hicks of Bartow, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin Simmons on November 11, 2008 and her parents.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Linton.

Memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services on Saturday at the Church.
