Betty Joann McGlocklin, of Owensburg, Indiana entered the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Majestic Care of Bloomington, Indiana. Betty was 79 years old and was born on June 15, 1946, the daughter of Ralph (Buck) and Helen V. (Dale) Starling. Betty graduated from Odon High School in 1964.

A devoted follower of Christ, Betty was a faithful member of Pleasant Kentucky Ridge Baptist Church of Bloomfield, Indiana. Her life was defined by love, kindness, and faith, with a hint of stubbornness. Betty's pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband John L. Carter, husband James (Jim) McGlocklin, stepson James (Jimmy) McGlocklin, grandson Samuel (Sammie) Guzman, granddaughter Mikayla Mumma, and brother Richard (Buck) Starling.

She is survived by her children, John (Letica) Carter and Tammy Mumma, siblings David Starling and Shirley Jackson, grandchildren Amber (Aaron) Norris, Bea Guzman, Travis Davis Jr. and great-grandchildren Niko Carter, Clayton Norris, Landon Norris, Gracelynn Johnson, Brooklyn Norris, Addison Johnson, Branson Norris, and Remington Norris.
Betty proudly retired from Indiana University Department of Biology.

Betty loved to make flower arrangements, work in the garden, cook, bake, and spend time with her beloved family who will miss her dearly and cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Erin Raper officiating. Interment will follow in Owensburg Cemetery.

Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
