Arnold C. Johnson 93, of Loogootee, passed away 7:56 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
Born August 7, 1914 in Daviess County, he was the son of Chester and Mina (McCarter) Johnson.
He was an electrician for RCA in Bloomington retiring in 1979 after 30 years of service. He was a Jehovah's Witness in Bloomfield. Arnold was well known throughout the area for playing the fiddle.
Surviving relatives include: his children, Paul E. Johnson of Odon, twins, Roy E. "Louie" Johnson of Odon and Ruth E. Miller of Newberry, and Dale E. Johnson of Bloomfield; nine grandchildren, eight great, grandchildren, and two great, great, grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes M. Johnson on April 9, 2002, one grandson, two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Pastor Pat Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Hill cemetery in Odon.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 1 hour prior to services Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral home in Bloomfield.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Arthritis Foundation.
