Anna Katherine "Kappy" Huffine passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon Indiana.

She was born July, 13, 1927 in Newberry, Indiana to Walter Burton and Hazel (Sipes) Malone.

Kappy married her soulmate Ray Huffine on November 22, 1948, and was a devoted, loving wife for 54 years until his passing.

She deeply loved her family. Her son, daughter-in-law and grandsons were her world. She beamed with pride when talking about them.

She loved the outdoors and was a hard worker. She often spoke of working in the fields with her sisters and brothers growing up. She loved sitting
on the back porch with Ray, talking and listening to the peaceful sounds of the evening, enjoying each other's company. Her passion was mushroom
hunting and she was very good at it. She and Ray spent countless hours fishing on the family lake, each trying to outdo the other by catching the
biggest largemouth bass. Kappy loved flowers and birds (especially hummingbirds), and gardening (she always had a large garden). She and Ray
hunted arrowheads and camped together as much as possible. Their home was a gathering place for family and friends, maybe because she was such
a good cook. Her beef and noodles were famous among family members. Euchre, badminton, and horseshoe matches were always a part of the get-togethers.
She loved Switz City High School basketball when her son and grandsons played and later on became an avid Indiana Pacers and Reggie Miller fan.
Kappy and Ray never wanted to travel. They felt they had everything they needed and wanted with each other at their home.

Kappy loved God and was a member of Newberry Cornerstone Church. She was proud to have served her church over the years.

Surviving family members include her son Craig (Connie) Huffine of Newberry, grandsons Ryan (Sheri) Huffine of Lebanon and Wyatt Huffine of Bloomington,
and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray, and siblings Wilson Pickett, Carol Malone, Clyde "Jack" Malone, Woodrow "Woody" Malone,
Norman "Buck" Malone, Martha June Evans, Farol Ray, Margaret "Peggy" Sweitzer, and infant sister Mable Marie Malone.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Reverend Bob Bruner officiating.
Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery in rural Lyons.

Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Newberry Cornerstone Church.
