Andrew Joseph Carnegie, 83, of Bloomington, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born May 19, 1942 in Linton, Indiana, he was the son of Van and Mabel (Ammer) Carnegie.
Andy retired as an engineer from AT&T and was a member of the Stanford Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Donna (McElroy) Carnegie; two daughters, Jyme Johnston (Bruce) and Lori Deck (Jay); six grandchildren, Jodi Hawkins (Matt), Jana Young (Josh), Juli Adams (Josh), Samantha Stevens (Brant), Clint Deck and Logan Deck (Laura); fourteen great-grandchildren, Emmitt, Wyatt, Sawyer, Maci, Evelyn, Mabel, Annie, Abe, Amanda, Beau, Millie, Maggie, Charlotte and James; two sister-in-law's, Carol Carnegie and Joellen Allen (Ron) Burton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Amanda Abel, one brother, Chris Carnegie, his brother-in-law's, Jim McElroy and Roger Allen, his Father and Mother-in-law, Herb and Ellen McElroy and his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 28, 2024 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bloomington, 4201 W. 3rd Street Bloomington, IN 47404, with Rev. Russell Abel officiating. Interment will follow in Dutch Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday (Masonic Funeral Rites at 7 pm) at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield and from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday at the church.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church.
