Alvin Corbin, 80, of Clay City, Indiana passed away at 10:05 P.M. on Wednesday February 14, 2007 at his residence.
Born May 2, 1926 in Scotland, Indiana he was the son of Thomas Irven & Ethel May (Waggoner) Corbin.
He was retired from Crane where he worked in the Material Control Branch of A.S. & C., he was also a farmer and District Director for UDWI-REMC. He was a member of Faith Southern Baptist Church in Clay City, Clay County Horseshoe League, and the Solsberry American Legion. He was a Army Veteran of WWII with Combat Infantryman Badge Rifle SS, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, EAME Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Battle Stars (Northern France, Rhineland, & Centeral Europe), Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp, Victory Medal WWII.
Survivers include his wife Edrie (Brothers) Corbin of Clay City, Indiana; his children Alvin Leon & his wife Mary Corbin of Washington, Indiana; Lane & his wife Shirley Corbin of Solsberry, Indiana.; Elaine Corbin of Havre de Grace, MD.; Aletta & husband Scott Royer of Coal City, Indiana.; & Mark & his wife Emily Corbin of Clay City, Indiana. 9 Grandchildren & 6 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 1 son Leonard Corbin, 3 brothers, 5 sisters, 9 1/2 brothers & 1 1/2 sister, and parents.
Friends may call from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Sunday February 18, 2007 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield and 11 A.M. till the hour at Faith Southern Baptist Church in Clay City, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M. at Faith Southern Baptist Church in Clay City, Indiana with Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler & Rev. Roger Bear officiating. Burial will follow at Duncan Cemetery in Clay City, Indiana with Solsbarry American Legion doing Military Graveside Rites.
Donations may be made to the Hospice of Wabash Valley or Faith Southern Batist Church in Avlins' name.
