Alma "Rusty" L. (Titus) Mormance, 92, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on May 23, 2022.
She was born Sept 20,1929 in Owensburg, IN, to Thomas R. and Altona "Toni" Wollam Titus and was the oldest of their ten children. She graduated from Bloomfield High School, where she was a National Merit Scholarship winner. She left Indiana University to marry Charles "Chuck" Mormance on January 28, 1949 in Sullivan County, IN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck; children, Charles Thomas Mormance and Juliet Suzanne Sumner; parents, Thomas and Altona Wollam Titus; and siblings, Lillian Hamilton, David Titus, and John Titus.
Rusty is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Cofield and Renee Anderson; siblings, Homer " Red" Titus, William Titus, Rhoda Gibson, James Titus, Alice Oestreich, and Teresa Hilliker; 12 grandchildren; and, 20 great grandchildren.
She encouraged her children and grandchildren to develop their talents. She was an avid amateur genealogist long before it became a popular pastime and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She moved to Florida 10 years ago to live with her daughter, but she missed Indiana and being close to her family. Rusty's service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Lester Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, IN. with burial following at Grandview Cemetery.
Public visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
