Alma Juanita Gilreath, 83, of Linton formerly of Bloomfield, passed away at 7:16 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009 at her residence in Linton.
Born August 3, 1925 in Falmouth, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Owen Robert and Elsie May (Smith) Holaway. She was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was a homemaker. Alma was a lovingly devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be greatly missed.
Surviving relatives include: seven sons, Jerry Lee Gilreath of Bloomfield, Dickie Norris Gilreath of Morresville, Donald Gilreath of Linton, Larry Wayne Gilreath of Bloomington, Steve Allen Gilreath of Indianapolis, David Patrick Gilreath of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and Robert Gilreath of Jasonville; four daughters, Janet Martin-Lytle of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, Sandra Jean Turpin of Linton, Peggy Ann Lopez of Linton, and Wendy Gail Rines of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; one brother, Robert Holaway of Bloomfield; one sister, Helen Bullard of Versailles; thiry-six grandchildren, forty great, grandchildren, and two great, great, grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Gilreath on April 27, 1977, her parents, Owen Robert and Elsie May (Smith) Holaway, two brothers, Kenneth Holaway and Jimmy Holaway, and one sister, Dorothy Sellers.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2009 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will be in Walnut Grove cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 1 hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
