Wes Guffey, 73, of Newberry, passed away at 2:14 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington.
Born May 7, 1939 in Wayne County, Kentucky, he was the son of Linza Ray and Pearl (Rhoades) Guffey.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Poindexter's in Indianapolis and local union # 841.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Deanna K. Guffey of Newberry; his children, Jack Guffey of Seymour and Pam Leach of El Paso, Texas; stepsons, Doug Pearson of Indianapolis and Tim Pearson of Bloomfield; sisters, Anita Shelton of Bedford, Wanda Lane of Medora and Vivian Stonecipher and Ruth Humble both of Monticello, Kentucky; two brothers, Mack Guffey of Monticello, Kentucky and Kenny Guffey of Mitchell; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Robert King officiating. Interment will follow in Newberry cemetery.
Public visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
