Vanesa Hernandez, 18, of Bloomfield, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born April 14, 1994 in San Miguel, El Salvador, she was the daughter of Andy and Clelia (Mardiaga) Dicus.
Vanesa was a Sophomore at Bloomfield High School where she was an officer in the ROTC. She attended Tulip Church of God and the youth group at the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
Surviving relatives include: her parents, Andy and Clelia Dicus of Bloomfield; her children, Laura Hernandez of El Salvador and Darlene Hernandez of Bloomfield; one brother, Andy Pablo Dicus of Bloomfield; one sister, Robin Nicalosa Dicus of Bloomfield; her grandparents, Pablo and Nicalosa Mardiaga of El Salvador; and several Aunts and Uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Tulip Church of God in Bloomfield, with Rev. Jeff Rockey officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel cemetery in Rural Lyons.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 1 hour prior to services Friday at the Tulip Church of God in Bloomfield. Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to a fund set up in Vanesa's name at the Bloomfield State Bank to help defray the final expenses.
