Stephen Paul White

Stephen Paul White, 78, of Bloomfield passed away Thursday February 28, 2019 at Hearthstone Health Campus in Bloomington. Born November 5, 1940 in Greene County, Indiana the son of Paul and Geneva (Hert) White. Steve was Co-owner and operator of Whites Shopping Center in Bloomfield, he was a member of the Bloomfield Odd Fellows, Charter member of the Faith Christian Church and attended the Providence Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Bloomfield High School class of 1958. Surviving relatives include his wife Rosalie “Rosie” White, his children, Susan (Bill) Chaney, Karen Roach, Stephanie (Jason) Roberts all of Bloomfield, a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Pickett of Valrico, Florida; his grandchildren, Jessica Miller, Andrew Chaney, Shawna Major, Stephan Lagenour, Makenzie Roberts, Carter Roberts, Dayson Roberts, Kelsi Roach and Meaghan Pickett, Sarah Pickett, Alec Pickett, he has six great grandchildren, one brother, Earl (Joann) White of Bloomfield, one sister, Ellen “Ciss” (Robert) Jerrels of Bloomfield, a sister-in-law, Doris White of Houston, Texas; and several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Randy White and David Pickett, a brother, William P. White, sister, Jerri Thomas, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Leone “Granny” Pearson and Dee Pearson and a son-in-law, Mike Roach. Steve will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his devotion to his family, his sense of humor, his generous spirit, his strong work ethic, and his faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. He will be missed more than words can express by all who knew him. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. on Monday at the First Christian Church in Bloomfield and 12 Noon Tuesday until the hour of service at the Church. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Bloomfield First Christian Church with Pastor Darren McDonald, Rev. Arlen Pope and Jack Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family wishes donations be made to the Bloomfield First Baptist Church Food Pantry or Providence Baptist Church.
