Shirley Fay Cox, 78, of Bloomfield, passed away at 5:14 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at University Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born January 1, 1935 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Ernest Waggoner and Anna (Hill) Moyes.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Newberry Nazarene Church.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Monica McCrary (Greg) of Vincennes; one son, Bobby Joe of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Randy Scott Craig (Amy) of Brighton, Michigan and Daniella Smith (Tim) of Vincennes; great grandchildren, Ethan Craig, Emily Craig, Erica Craig, Morgan Smith and Jaxon Smith; her twin sister, May Kaiser of Jasper, sisters, Frances Garrett of Greenwood, Bernadine White of Manassas, Virginia and Joan Rissman of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Eugene Cox on March 9, 1998, sisters, Evelyn Henson and Mary Edmunson and her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Newberry Nazarene Church, with Rev. Billy Sam Phegley and Rev. Mike Ladison officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel cemetery in rural Lyons.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield and 1 hour prior to services Saturday at the Church.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
