Obituary

Russell James, Sr. 88, of Solsberry, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010 at CORE Nursing & Rehab in Bedford.
Born August 1, 1921 in Solsberry, he was the son of Tony and Flossie Goldie (Bingham) James.
He was a retired superintendent for the Greene County Highway Department, worked for Indiana University and was also a farmer. He attended Pleasant Ridge Church.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Judy Black of Solsberry; five sons, Russell James, Jr. of Solsberry, Jerrell L. James of Bloomington, Bob F. James of Bloomfield, Joe James of Bloomfield and Donald T, James of Solsberry; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great, grandchildren and four great, great, grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Anna Jean James in 2006.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2010 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Ed Smith and Rev. Bradley Burgess officiating. Interment will be in Bingham cemetery in rural Solsberry.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 1 hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Bingham cemetery in care of Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home.
