Robert Lee Taylor, 78, of Bloomfield, passed away at 5:19 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born January 2, 1938 in Bloomington, he was the son of Leonard Ira and Myrtle (Hillenburg) Taylor.

He worked for Westinghouse in Bloomington.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Shirley Taylor of Bloomfield; children, Anthony Ira Taylor of Bloomington, Bill Babcock of Bloomfield and John Babcock of Germany; one sister, Betty Breeden of Bloomfield; one brother, Everett Taylor of Bloomington; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Taylor and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove cemetery in rural Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
