Mary "Helen" Sowers, 83, of Bloomfield, IN returned to her Heavenly home on Saturday, April 1, 2017.

Born September 8, 1933 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Howard E. and Rosa (Jones) Bryant.

She worked at Bloomfield High School as a custodian for 29 years. She attended Concord General Baptist Church in Calvertville. She loved spending time with family and friends.

Surviving relatives include: her children, David Sowers (Marta), Wanda Rose (Fred), Mary E. Zimmerman (Gail) and Herman Sowers (Mary Ann) all of Bloomfield and Kathy Dove of Worthington; one sister, Rose Marie Sowers of Greenwood; eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one great grandson and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Craig Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Defore Cemetery in Freedom.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the family of Helen Sowers to help defray the costs of final expenses.
