Obituary

Marilyn Kay Moody, 90, of Solsberry, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at McCormick's Creek Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Spencer.

Kay was an insurance agent for Hoosier Insurance in Bloomfield for several years, but most recently worked as a home healthcare aid. She was a lifelong member of the Solsberry Community Church (formerly the Solsberry United Methodist church), where she was the choir director for many years. Music was a joy of hers; she not only sang in church but was in a band, Dick Campbell and the Variations for over 3 decades where she sang with her two best friends Rowena Campbell and MaryRuth (Boruff) Hostettler. Those 3 ladies were known as the Trio and sang at many funerals, church functions and elsewhere in the community.
Kay did not know a stranger, once you met her you were her friend for life. She loved sharing her faith in God and bragging about her kids and grandkids. Kay was an enthusiastic sports fan and loved cheering on her grandkids at their various events and she was also an avid IU basketball fan. You could often hear her strongly disagreeing with the referees, let's just say she had a lot of spunk!
She took care of so many during her time as a care giver. She took pride in being able to help those in need and helping their families by doing what she did best, giving an encouraging word and making sure they knew they were loved by her and God.
She will be deeply missed by so many but especially her surviving relatives which include: her children, Mark A. Hash (Karen) and Melanie D. Seipel (Randy); twelve grandchildren, Morgan Hash, Kasey Butcher, Emily Strange, Logan Hash, Madison Wood, Jes Seipel, Tanya Hagerty, Nicole Horn, Tyler Hash, Jake Hash, Kalei Hash and Samantha Hash; and twenty great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Moody, two sons, Michael Hash and Monte Hash; Daughter-in-law, Barbara Hash, two brothers, Richard and Carl and her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at the Solsberry Community Church with Rev. Matt Whitacre and Randy Seipel officiating.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday and from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Solsberry Community Church.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Solsberry Community Church.
