Kenneth Wilbur Sparks, 89, of Solsberry, passed away at 7:05 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born November 19, 1927 in Stanford, he was the son of Ernest and Vivian (Hough) Sparks.

He was a farmer. He served his country in World War II with the United States Army. He was a member of the Stanford Baptist Church and the Solsberry American Legion Post #450.

Surviving relatives include: two sons, Scott Sparks (Julie) of Solsberry and Greg Sparks of French Lick; one brother, Ivan Sparks of Solsberry; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen and Donnie Sparks and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Jim Weimer officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Chapel cemetery in rural Solsberry.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
