Joetta "Jodie" Swafford, 70, of Solsberry passed away Friday November 29, 2013 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born September 26, 1943 in Linton, Indiana the daughter of Walter and Ruby Lea (Basye) Seals.
Jodie was retired from the fabric and craft department at Walmart. She was a member of the Greene County Chapel Church, she attended the Bloomfield Church of God and the Little Country Church. She loved her family and friends, especially her kids and grandchildren and great granddaughter.
She is survived by her mother-in-law, Dorothy Newman of Solsberry, her son, Brian (Debbie) Newman of Solsberry, her daughter, Stacey (Dennis) Terrell of Springville, a sister-in-law, Carol (Vance)Boydston of Texas, five grandchildren, Brandon (Lacquen) McCabe, Jeremy Newman (Rachel Sturgeon), Melanie (Tyler) Hash, Katie Terrell and McKenzie Terrell, one great granddaughter, Breanna Hash, sister Sandy (Bill) Bowman, brother, Ronny (Wanda) Basye and special people Juanita Chesterfield and Galene Dyer.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Newman, brother Joey Foster, father-in-law Larkin Newman, inherited parents Hubert & Verna Foster and her parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. on Thursday and 9 A.M. Friday until the hour of service at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Brother Jerry Gholson, Rev. Carl Jackson and J.R. Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Solsberry Cemetery.
