Obituary

Jerald (Jerry) Sherrow, 83 of Bloomfield, Indiana, passed away at IU Methodist Hospital on June 4, 2017 after a brief illness. He leaves the love of his life, Vera Lee (Kirk) wife of 63 years, and three daughters. Joni Nonte (Steve) of Bloomfield; Jill Cejka, of Glendale AZ; Erin Hayse (David) of Crown Point. Jerry also leaves behind eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Born and raised in Solsberry Indiana, the son of Wayne and Marthena (Yoho) Sherrow, and brother to Rowena Campbell, Bloomfield; Jeanetta Neidigh, Linton; Maxine Hayse, Bloomfield.

In his early years, Jerry could be found in a few different Solsberry locations, including his father's barber shop, Yoho's Store and playing basketball for the Solsberry High School Hornets. As an adult, Jerry was proud to have served in the US Army toward the end of the Korean War, and was employed by RCA, retiring in 1989 after 32 years of service. Once retired, Jerry enjoyed winters in Florida with Vera.

Jerry was a member of Solsberry Methodist Church and the Solsberry American Legion. He is lovingly remembered for his sense of humor, his love of baseball (especially the St. Louis Cardinals) and Indiana basketball.

Most importantly, Jerry will be remembered for his love and dedication to family, and his faith in God.
