Jack W. Boruff

Jack W. Boruff moved on to brighter days and better fishing on Friday, June 19, 2015, he was 78 years old. He earned his living as a young man working for J.L. Wilson Company as a carpenter and later for Peoples Gas Company. In 1971 he became an employee of the Bloomfield School District as maintenance worker and driver of the athletic bus for the Cardinals. While employed as the bus driver he made fond memories and friendships with so many. He was a member of the Bloomfield First Christian Church and a 55 year member of the Masonic Lodge, he was also one of the founders of the Greene County Ridge Riders Horse and Pony 4-H Club. He was born on March 6, 1937 to Robert S. Boruff and Mary Ann (Byers) Boruff in a small Bloomfield Neighborhood filled with modest homes and neighbors that in those days were more like extended family. He shared a special bond with his older brother Bob, who preceded him in death on February 25, 2012. We are sure that now they are side by side again and catching up on all the time they’ve missed. Jack was blessed to have shared his younger years with Martha Ann (Feutz) Boruff, his high school sweetheart for 42 years. They were married on November 19, 1955 and they were blessed with two daughters, Debra Sue (Ron) Goodman and Lori Ann (Butch) Brown and four grandchildren, R. Nicholas (Kristen) Goodman, Brittainy N. (Jim) Helms, Jeri Sue Brown, Scott (Rochelle) Brown and all their families. They enjoyed their life together until her death in March 1997; she was laid to rest on his birthday. We carry her with us every day. She is our strength and our compass. His Life was once again blessed on January 13, 1998 with his marriage to Marilyn K. (Sharr) Boruff. She has been his devoted wife and companion and his rock for 17 years. They have shared so many good times together in the twilight season of their lives. This union brought step children, Anthony Jones and Elaine (Bill) Bond and grandchildren, Matthew and Alexandria Jones and Jared and Meaghan Bond into his life. Dad had a special fondness for the countless kids he carried on his bus throughout the years and many of those kids, now adults, still share their special memories of good times with Jack. We are touched that he influenced so many people throughout his life. Dad, you will be missed by so many watch over us…. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with rev. Erin Raper officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch cemetery in rural Bloomfield. Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
