Harley W. Haskett, 93 passed away on March 27, 2013 at his home in Switz City, Indiana.
He was born June 2, 1919 in Switz City, the son of Joseph and Hazel Haskett.
Harley was self employed for over 50 years at Haskett's Auto Shop in Switz City. He was a member of the Switz City Fire Department for 35 years. He served in the United States Army during World War II and drove a tank in the New York City Victory Parade when the war ended.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Martha Lou Sparks Haskett, brother Herb, sisters Elizabeth Herold and Geneva Newsom and grandson, Bradley Clayton.
He is survived by daughters, Kay Frye (Ron) of Indianapolis, Marylin Clayton (Don) of Linton and son Gene Haskett (Deborah) of Charlotte, North Carolina, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
He was a member of the former United Methodist Church of Switz City and attended Mansions in Heaven Church in Bloomfield.
Friends may call Friday, March 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Erin Raper officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
