George David Ockerman, 58, of Bloomfield passed away Friday April 5, 2019 at home.

Born August 11, 1960 the son of Billy Donald Ockerman and Beverly Ann (Pullen) Ockerman.

George was a member of the Mineral United Methodist Church; he dedicated his life serving the people of Greene County. He worked for the Greene County Ambulance Service for 36 years, retiring in 2013. He belonged to the area fire departments for 41 years, he was a Mason, Shriner and Odd Fellow, a Lay Speaker for his community, Chaplain for the Greene County Sherriff's department, he served as the Greene County Coroner from 2014 to 2018, he had received the Coroner of the year and the EMS Emeritus Award.

George married Debra Roberts on November 14, 1981.

Surviving relatives include his wife Debi Ockerman, Mother, Beverly Ockerman both of Bloomfield, sister-in-law, Brenda Ockerman of Marshall, Illinois; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and Marilyn Roberts of Tampa, Florida; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dave and Diane Willoughby of Martinsville, fifteen nieces and nephews and fourteen great nieces and great nephews.

George was preceded in death by his father Bill Ockerman, his sister, Libby Hudson, brother Michael Ockerman and his grandparents.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday and 9 A.M. Wednesday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. A Masonic and Fire Department service for George will be held on Tuesday evening at the Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Steve Eads, Rev. Arlen Pope and Mike Toon officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield.

The family wishes all donations be made to the Mineral United Methodist Church or Jenkins Funeral Home to held with expenses in George's name.
