Forrest Chane Collings

Forrest Chane Collings, 89, of Springville left this world to be with his heavenly father on May 12, 2014. Forrest was the husband of Mary E. Couch Collings. They lived most of their lives in Bloomfield where he was the Pastor of Mt. Calvary church as well as a farmer on Old Sylvania road. As his illines progressed, they moved to Springville where they were surrounded by loving family and friends.With the help of Hospice and the VA, his last few years were spent in the comfort of his home with loved ones by his side. Forrest was a loving father and grandfather to his children, Darl (Linda) Collings, Kathy (Dirus) Dustin, Karen (Kent) Suiters, Ed (Kim) Couch, Phyllis (David) Stalker, Patricia (Steve) May and Rob (Trish) Couch. His grandchildren, Tammy (David) Patton, Brad Collings, Linda Edwards, Charles McCullife, Amber (Ken) Litzinger, Autumn (Nick) Evans, Josh (Stephanie) Dustin, Kristen Feutz, Kayla Collings, Brad Suiters, Katie Suiters, Nathan Deatherage, Nicole Young, Matthew Young, Julie Davis, Jodie (Jason) Pike, Amy May, Paul (Trena) May, Dusty Couch, Rebecca Couch, Joshua Devahey, Steve Devahey, Matthew Devahey and Sierra Devahey, he had a host of great grandchildren and one sister Marcia LaVonne Gallion. Forrest was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of WWII, after the war he spent time in Alaska mining and saving money to purchase land to fulfill his dream of being a farmer. He was called to become a pastor and spent the rest of his life faithfully service the Lord. Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Thelma Jean Collings, one sister Venita Dopher and one infant granddaughter Pamela Joe Collings. Friends may call from 2 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday at the Sylvania Wesleyan Church and 11 A.M. on Thursday until the hour of service at the Church. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Sylvania Wesleyan Church with Pastor Bob England officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery with a military graveside service by the Solsberry American Legion Post # 450. The family wishes any donations be made to the local hospice.
