Earl Forest Dye

Earl Forest Dye, 95, of Solsberry, passed away 3:20 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Lyons Health and Living Center. Born September 7, 1913 in Martin County, he was the son of Rama and Mary (Burch) Dye. He was a carpenter for Grossman Construction in Bloomington, retiring in 1978. He also worked as a farmer and for Bloomfield Silo Company. He was a member of Cincinnati Christian Church, Solsberry American Legion, Solsberry Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star, and Carpenters Union Local # 1664. Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Erlene and her husband James Lindsey of Solsberry; one son, Richard Dye and his wife Darlene of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Mike Lindsey and his wife Raedawn of Solsberry, Dan Lindsey and his wife Tammy of Bloomington, Debbie Whyte and her husband John of Florida, Becky Lindsey of Solsberry, DeLynn Reed and her husband Jeff of Solsberry, Jessica Deckard and her husband Jon of Bloomfield, and Wesley Dye of Bloomfield; his great, grandchildren, Heather Bond, Heidi Norris, Zach Lindsey, Bryce Lindsey, Michael Whyte, Andrew Whyte, Dustin Maze, Dave Reed, and Gary Reed; his great, great, grandchildren, Steven Bond, Austin Bond, and Jaden Norris; three sisters, Hazel Crane of Florida, Mary Hamilton of Florida, and Dorothy Henry of North Carolina; three brothers, Byron Dye of Texas, Rama Dye, Jr. of Loogootee, and Henry Dye of Shoals. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dollie Louise (Crowe) Dye in 1989, four sisters, and two brothers. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Cincinnati Christian Church, with Rev. Henry Mann, Jr., Rev. Glen Stidd, Rev. Byron Williams, and Rev. Kurtis Moffitt officiating. Interment will be in Solsberry cemetery where military rights will be handled by the Solsberry American Legion. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 hour prior to services Wednesday all at Cincinnati Christian Church. Solsberry Masonic Lodge services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
