Dallas Lloyd Caplinger, 94, of Bloomfield passed away Wednesday October 4, 2017 at the Lyons Health & Living Center.

Born August 5, 1923 in Osgood, Indiana the son of Ben and Ellen (Hughes) Caplinger.

Dallas was an Ordained minister through the Indiana Wesleyan Methodist Association, he was also an auto mechanic for Bill's Auto, retiring at the age of seventy. He loved his family and his Lord and Savior, he was an avid baseball fan and was always willing to help everyone through his life, whether it was stopping to help a stranded motorist or counseling people with whatever they needed help with, loving people unconditionally or preaching a sermon to someone.

Surviving relatives include three daughters, Charlene Magni, Becky (Jeff) Nickless all of Bloomfield, Cheryl (Randy) Martin of Solsberry, seven grandchildren, Donnie Johnson of Denver, Colorado; Chasity (Chris) Skelly of Terre Haute, Ryan (Bonnie) Sparks of Zionsville, Jeffrey (Ashli) Combs of Bloomfield, Austin Combs of Solsberry, Seth Combs of Bloomington and Tyler Nickless of Bloomfield, Dallas has twelve great grandchildren and one brother Walter Caplinger of Bloomfield.

Dallas was preceded in death by his wife Opal M. Caplinger on February 22, 2008; two brothers, Roscoe Alvin Hughes and Curtis Caplinger, one sister Evelyn Baechle and his parents.

Friends may call from 11 A.M. on Monday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Blomfield with Rev. Jeff Rockey and Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery.
