Billy Gene Richardson, 58, of Bloomfield, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2011 at his residence.
Born August 22, 1952 in Muncie, he was the son of Charlie Benton and June Irene Orianna (Thompson) Richardson.
He was a computer technician for the Bloomfield Library and Eastern Schools. He also worked at GE and ABB in assembly. He served his country in the Vietnam era with the United States Navy and was a member of Nine Mile United Methodist Church.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Rhonda Richardson whom he married April 14, 1978; one daughter, Kathy Richardson of Bloomfield; his mother, June Liles of Avoca; brother, Bobby Joe Richardson of Bloomfield; sister, Beverly Stalcup of Bloomington; one 1/2 brother, Joseph Edward Liles of Avoca; two aunts, Rosemary Richardson of Parker City and Toni Dillingham of Dugger; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and step father, Jesse Liles.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2011 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Pastor John Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 1 hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home. Military services will be conducted by American Legion Post # 196 in Bloomfield.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
