Bessie "Blueie" Woodsmall 84, of Elnora, passed away at 6:58 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
Born January 20, 1930 in Daviess County to James H. and Bessie (Fisher) Bickley. She married Harold Eugene Woodsmall on January 13, 1953 he precedes her in death.
She graduated from Odon High School and later the Louisville School of Nursing, attending Nazareth College and the University of Louisville. She also attended the University of Evansville and was a Red Cross nurse.
She served on many advisory boards such as Twin Rivers Vocational and the Senior Citizens Nutritional Program. She also outlined the curriculum and exam for State Certification of Q.M.A's. She was a Cub Scout and Brownie leader and a member of the Elnora Methodist Church.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Sharon Hastings (Mark) of Elnora; one son, Gary Woodsmall (Nancy) of Spencer; her grandchildren, Brieanna Woodsmall, Ryan White and James Hastings; great grandchildren, Kaden White, Kysen White, Arrianna Hastings, Logan Hastings and Loreli Hastings; and one brother, James Bickley of Odon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eugene Woodsmall on January 23, 1967, two brothers, two sisters and her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in Fairview cemetery in Elnora.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 1 hour prior to services on Sunday at the funeral home.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon.
